Traditional Owners
Dover Castle Metals’ respects and acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the land on which our mining lease and surrounding EPM’s are located.
We work with our Traditional Owners under the guidance of formal agreements and legally binding plans. In doing so we respect the rights, history, future intentions, and requests of First Nations people. Our Ancillary Agreement with the Bar Barrum People #4 was the first such agreement signed under Mabo, making it a landmark achievement.
All of our Exploration Permits are granted with Native Title Protection Conditions over native title land determined for several Bar Barrum groups, with the Mbabaram Aboriginal Corporation serving as the registered native title body corporate.
Dover Castle Metals continues to meet legislative requirements within the strict regulatory frameworks of the Queensland and Australian governments.
We are proud to employ members of our traditional landowners at Dover Castle Metals, who play an important role in identifying any areas of cultural significance. Also, for any land disturbance, we have controls in place to manage and protect cultural heritage sites.
